The weight on Graham Potters shoulders has somewhat lifted over the past week and victories over Leeds United and Borussia Dortmund have given the Chelsea head coach reason for optimism. Yet there can be no setback against Leicester City this afternoon. Momentum cant be halted once again.

Its always nicer to win, everything feels a bit better, it feels like you have taken a step forward, Potter explained at hispre-match press conference yesterday. But I am not getting carried away. It is just two wins. I have to focus on Leicester. The boys have been in a good place, a good spirit. They have stuck together through a bad time which is good.

We have to play well. I think Leicesters results are worse than their performances. Theyve been a bit unfortunate as well I think. They are suffering from not the best of starts, Im sure Brendan [Rodgers] will agree with that. But theyve rallied as well and still have some really good players. I have huge respect for what Brendan has done there and he is a top coach and top person. Itll be a tough game.

Chelsea as has been the case for much of the season will be without several key players. Thiago Silva is out with a knee injury. James due to illness. NGolo Kante isnt ready to return from his long-standing hamstring injury. Mason Mount (abdomen) wont be risked. Raheem Sterling (hamstring) is a doubt. Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang (back) too. And Armando Broja (knee) wont play again this season.

Edouard Mendy is inching closer to a return having undergone surgery on a fractured finger in January. However, the Senegal international is not likely to usurp Kepa Arrizabalaga on his return as the Spaniard, after two seasons in the role as deputy, has reasserted himself as Chelseas first choice.

Potter is expected to continue with the 3-4-2-1 shape used to overcome Leeds United and Borussia Dortmund. That should see Wesley Fofana return to the King Power Stadium and keep his place on the right of the back three. Kalidou Koulibaly should continue in the centre and Marc Cucurella, after an impressive outing in midweek, may be granted another start.

James was absent from training on Thursday and Friday due to illness and wont feature this afternoon. Cesar Azpilicueta, who has recovered from a concussion, is likely to come back into the side at right wing-back. Ben Chilwell, who has rediscovered his best form after a testing 14 months, is likely to begin on the opposite flank.

Enzo Fernandez has been an ever-present in the starting XI since his January switch from Benfica and will line up in midfield once more. Who the Argentine will be partnered by is a decision Potter has to make and he may opt to rest Mateo Kovacic and bring in Denis Zakaria.

There is expected to be a change in the front three. Kai Havertz, after a standout performance against Dortmund, should lead the attack once more but Raheem Sterling may not be risked having felt tightness in his hamstring ahead of the game. That may result in Noni Madueke coming in on the right while Joao Felix starts on the left. Mykhailo Mudryk would again be among the substitutes.

Predicted Chelsea side: Kepa; Fofana, Koulibaly, Cucurella; Azpilicueta, Enzo, Zakaria, Chilwell; Madueke, Havertz, Felix.
